Hello, my name is Jennifer Behre Caputo! Designing and instructing for the Regional Training Center over the last 19 years has been an absolute joy. My pedagogical values are in total alignment with the company's ideals of imparting challenging, engaging, and relevant courses for today's educators. The realistic and flexible design approach of all courses is compared to none. The techniques and strategies RTC courses share are practical, realistic and steeped in years of research.
I started off just like you, as an RTC participant. I still am! I knew I had to do more than just share my enthusiasm with my students. I had a passion to teach the strategies, techniques, research, and my own personal experiences with other educators because the courses allowed me to meet with such success with all learners in the classroom.
I have most recently retired from the classroom after being a proud and very enthusiastic public school teacher. I like to challenge myself and try new things. I am not afraid of change, so I jumped around a lot during my career and I loved it! I was named the 2020 Sussex County Teach of the Year and the New Jersey State Teacher of the Year finalist. I've taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Research and I've spent nine years as a middle school Library Media Specialist. I have taught 30 minute specials classes, ELA 40 minute classes, and 60 & 80 minute ELA blocks. Regardless of the time period or subject area taught, I had a blast implementing everything I've learned in RTC courses along the way. THEY WORK!! The techniques work no matter what you teach and no matter how long your class periods are.
I look forward to getting to know you, your students, your subject area, and your district. We have so much to learn from each other!
